UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT

Utilization management represents professional expertise in assisting patients to use the healthcare system in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Alternative Care Management Systems (ACMS) is the utilization management partner for most of EBMC's client health plans.

ACMS assists employers and patients with utilization management services by performing utilization review and medical case management activities. These general services are applied in specific benefit areas, developed in conjunction with the employer and EBMC account managers. The services are comprehensive and complete, providing assurance to the employer and patient that medical care is efficient, necessary and of a consistent quality. ACMS' results are coordinated electronically with the EBMC Claims Administration system to ensure prompt, proper claims adjudication.
